Always a construction work starts with land surveyor markings. There are many types of marking that a surveyor does while starting a project. In United Arab Emirates municipality marks a plot area or a building plot limit. Then a surveyor checks these coordinates and verify whether they are matching with project coordinates or not. After verifying it he can start the work inside plot limit. At first, he will check the elevation of the inside plot limit and take as-builts for the project. This record he will keep safe for future cutting filling and to get idea of sand quantity etc. Because sometime the sand maybe more or less. If it's less, then you have to purchase it from outside. As per the building requirement a surveyor start giving the marking for the building and each marking elevations. 


Once it's done then following the levels most probably you need to do excavation. A surveyor should check the levels in the area and when it reaches to its level then stop the excavation. After that you need to reinstall all the points. And start marking for raft or footings.   Whatever you have in your drawings. If it's footings surveyor should mark all the points for footings and the level for pcc. After pcc finish then surveyor needs to install points for footings. Following surveyors' markings carpenters will fix the shuttering and surveyor will give the level for footing top.


And then they will start pouring concrete. After pouring you need to fix column points for carpenters to fix shuttering on these columns. You need to give them level marking Hight till the bottom of slab. After casting the concrete in columns, you need to fix slab levels and many more marking. Fixing all these marking is the procedure you must follow in order to not make any mistake.
